Our meals are provided by Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership and are freshly cooked every day at Longvernal School.

Catering Services has been awarded the Food For Life Bronze Award which recognises their committment to meeting government nutritional standards for school meals ensuring that all meals are healthy and offer a balanced diet for the children. Please click here for a copy of the menu (Term 1)

Research has shown that children who eat a healthy balanced diet tend to perform better at school and that only 1% of packed lunches comply with the nutritional standards for school lunches. 

Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM)

From September 2014 ALL children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a Free School Meal everyday regardless of family income or circumstances.

Children in Years 3-6 and Nursery will need to continue to pay £2.20 per day.

Pupil Premium & Free School Meals

Children who would previously qualified for Free School Meals attract additional funding into the school via the Pupil Premium. In 2016-17 that premium is worth £1350 per child.

Children who receive UIFSM will still qualify for Pupil Premium but parents must still apply and renew exisiting applications.
